《書目》(Booklist)評論
There are countless books that tell parents how to nourish children's minds and physiques. Here's one on how to talk to them. Healy says the only way to teach kids how to think is through creative conversation. "Great," one parent said to her, "What do we say?" Her book answers that question with the basics of how to listen and how to dispose of the "one right answer" mode of conversation so common between adults and children. Mostly, the book is filled with fun, stimulating conversation-starters such as, "If you could join any expedition that has ever taken place, which one would you choose?" and "If you could put all the boring things in the world into a box and close it up tight, do you think you would ever open it up again?" There are also hints for moving the conversation along and suggested children's book titles for follow-up. For some, Healy's premise is too simple; for others, the imaginative queries and conversational rules may be needed to break down rigidity and open young and older minds to new adventures. ~--Denise Perry Donavin
