Gr 4-6-Reinagle shows, step by step, how to draw various medieval subjects, including unicorns, dragons, castles, and warriors. As in Lee J. Ames's "Draw 50..." books (Doubleday), the entire process is shown-each drawing takes the shape of the desired object line by line. The author includes written instructions to accompany each step. Both the black-and-white illustrations and text are clear and concise. The pictures are a bit more detailed than those in Ames's books, so Reinagle's title may attract an older audience. Some basic techniques, such as the need for texture and shading, are presented, as are helpful hints for beginners. The need to practice is stressed in an encouraging manner, thus encouraging would-be artists. A solid addition.æMelissa Hudak, North Suburban District Library, Roscoe, IL (c) Copyright 2010.
