The purpose is to provide an up-to-date and in-depth review of implant dentistry. It provides the science and research necessary to enhance the success and improve the clinical outcomes in implant dentistry. This is a great book for those practicing implantology, dental students, postgraduate residents, implant fellows, general practitioners, specialists, and implant technicians. It provides a wealth of information to beginners and helps experienced clinicians further their knowledge. This edition covers almost every implant topic in great detail, using more than 2,000 illustrations. It is broadly divided into sections covering rationale for implants, treatment planning, fundamental science, implant surgery, soft and hard tissue rehabilitation, and maintenance. The book includes updates on rationales of biomechanical treatment plans, a layered approach to bone grafting, soft tissue surgeries, complemented by a chapter on tissue engineering.
