摘要
Here's the 4th Edition of the popular guide that takes the work and the errors out of interpreting radiographs. It features over 470 clear views of all intra- and extra-oral regions. Facing each page of illustrations is a page of captions that describe and differentiate between normal and abnormal anatomic features, and highlight diagnostically important characteristics of each radiograph presented. The 4th Edition discusses the applications, problems and potential of imaging systems and helps you anticipate complications.

This is the fourth edition of Myron Kasle's An Atlas of Dental Radiographic Anatomy. The atlas covers basic dental radiographic anatomy in a simple, easy-to-understand matter. The author has chosen to use basic dental radiography and several maxillofacial imaging techniques to review oral anatomy. The stated audience is students of dentistry and dental assisting. The book is appropriate for these two groups, but less so for the graduate student and practitioner. The text contains a large number of black-and-white, good-quality photographs and written descriptions. The photos are used to depict a variety of normal anatomy as well as several common pathologic conditions. The sheer quantity of photographs makes it a useful teaching tool, and the organizational structure is easy to follow. Despite the above mentioned attributes, the book does not necessarily teach the reader how to read an x-ray. It does not show a sufficient amount of pathology and fails to cover the variety of maxillofac ial imaging techniques and their uses. The book makes a good teaching tool for the intended audience: beginning dental students. Scott W. Podlesh, DDS(University of Chicago Medical Center). Copyright 2001, Doody Publishing
