Contemporary poets read from their poems and discuss why they write and for whom. Poetic interpretations of personal and political history, poetry as work and the experience of sharing a life of poetry with fellow writers are also discussed. Some of the poets featured are Robert Hass, former Poet Laureate of the United States, Philip Levine, a Pulitzer Prize winner for poetry and Allen Ginsberg.
