《学校图书馆杂志》(School Library Journal)书评
Gr 3-6-A good introduction to the subject, adequately illustrated with full-color drawings. Pope uses clear, easy-to-understand language to explain what fossils are, how they were formed, and how and where readers can collect them. She also describes the kinds of information these remains tell about the history of the earth and creatures of the past. A good index and short glossary increase the book's usefulness in classrooms. Younger readers will want Aliki's Fossils Tell of Long Ago (HarperCollins, 1990); Paul Taylor's Fossil (McCay, 1990) is a photo-intensive guide for intermediate and middle-school students.-Eunice Weech, M.L.
