Can an alcoholic stay sober through a lifetime of upheavals? Earle M., 35 years in Alcoholics Anonymous, describes how his own "Four I's of Recovery"--infatuation, irritability, inventiveness, and insight--have served as stepping stones on the journey toward emotional, alcohol-free stability. Through multiple careers, multiple marriages, and the beginning of AA in this country and abroad, the author discovered strength in sobriety, one day at a time. Although recovering people will appreciate this book, Earle's personal story will also intrigue anyone interested in addictive disease and the Alcoholics Anonymous program. Additional readings are included. No index. --Karen Graves
