The characteristics, clinical presentations, radiologic features, and management of one hundred thirteen musculoskeletal disease processes are highlighted in alphabetical order in this book. The authors describe this book as a comprehensive guide to orthopedic radiology. By simplifying each subject and utilizing the outline form, they meet their objective of creating a quick reference to a wide range of musculoskeletal diseases. Those training in radiology and orthopedics are the targeted audience. I also believe medical students and general practitioners needing a global view of musculoskeletal processes and management will find it helpful. A wide range of musculoskeletal topics are discussed, including soft tissue tumors. This arrangement is a useful tool for those wanting to reference a specific topic easily and quickly. Each subject is depicted by a radiologic image on the opposite page which best characterizes the pathologic process. Plain film is utilized most often, but ult rasound, MR, and CT images are included. The authors of this book fulfill their purpose of providing a simple guide to orthopedic radiology. For the most the pathology is adequately demonstrated in the images. Key points are highlighted which keep the reader on task. I believe this is a valuable reference for students and general practitioners. The detail is lacking for those in specialist training; however, radiologic residents may find it useful as a quick review prior to oral boards. Douglas E.
