《书目》(Booklist)书评
A fast-growing segment in the job market is the over-50 job seeker. Corporate restructuring and downsizing result in managerial layoffs and cutbacks that affect the older worker. Also, many retirees often seek part-time employment or second careers. Ray, an officer with an outplacement firm specializing in "displaced executives," tailors basic job-hunting advice for the older person and discusses the special problems faced by the older job seeker. Emphasizing throughout that the older worker's most important asset is experience, Ray advises how to cope emotionally with job loss, how to choose new careers, how to investigate the job market (including information on library re~sources), how to improve one's image, how to interview, and how to put together an appropriate resume. A separate chapter is devoted to the military retiree. ~--David Rouse
