《儿童读物杂志》(Horn Book)书评
Each book opens with an inadequate historical and cultural overview, illustrated with bland color photographs of ruins and artifacts. The second section contains a trite fictional narrative. The story of a young Mayan artist in the eighth century is printed over heavily illustrated pages, making the tale difficult to read. The design of [cf2]An Aztec[cf1] is easier on the eye, but the writing in this story of a fifteenth-century teenage warrior is equally uninspired. Bib., glos., ind. (c) Copyright 2010.
