《书目》(Booklist)书评
The product of a collaboration between two ALA divisions, the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) and the Public Library Association (PLA), this manual has been designed as a tool for quantifying and measuring the results of public library service to children. The procedures, techniques, and definitions are based on previous ALA publications, but the book, written clearly if not always concisely, stands alone. Among the many topics covered are material use measures, in-library use of children's materials, and children's library visits. Other management techniques, such as focus groups and user surveys, add an extra dimension. Particularly pleasing are the black-and-white photographs that serve to break up the text. Sources for additional information, as well as blank survey forms (in English and Spanish), complete a useful package. ~--Ilene Cooper
