K-Gr 3-These attractive titles give enough basic information for readers to understand the functions and importance of the ears and lungs, respectively, without getting confused. Both books show the anatomy, describe how the organs work, and briefly discuss diseases. Terms are defined within the easy-to-read texts and important points are restated in the picture captions. The illustrations and diagrams consist of photographs of 3-D models; they are uncluttered, colorful, and informative. Ears gives more information than Katherine Goode's Ears (Blackbirch, 2000) and Lungs is comparable to David A. Adler's You Breathe in, You Breathe Out (Watts, 1991; o.p.).-Martha Gordon, formerly at South Salem Library, NY (c) Copyright 2010.
