摘要

This study provides a theological, historical, and methodological analysis of the impact of Christian missions on indigenous cultures by examining Alaska as a case study. It seeks to demonstrate that Protestant missionaries carried a gospel of Western civilization intended to Americanize the native peoples of Alaska. The approaches taken among the Inupiat and Yuit peoples (translated: the real people) are also described.
