PreS-Gr 2-- Being a triplet spells mischief for Rosie, Susie, and Tracy. They know who is who, as do their parents; but they confuse everyone else, including their grandparents. And so, their shirts sport their initials. All works well until--you guessed it--a grand clothing switch is made. The girls' delight in the ensuing mayhem is put on hold, however, when a dental appointment is scheduled. They attempt to thwart the dentist, but are outsmarted by their dental x-rays. Once home, their mother directs them to put on the correct clothing, get to school, and stop confusing their teacher. They set off and have a fine day being themselves. This promises to give a good chuckle as the fast pacing progresses, and the bright Quentin Blake-like line and watercolor cartoons show the cavorting trio in their mix and match scheme. Culture and gender are represented among the characters. The book is large enough to be a good read-aloud for groups, and independent readers also will delight in the exuberant fun. --Mary Lou Budd, Milford South Elementary School, OH (c) Copyright 2010. Even though books involving triplets are few and far between, this one is marred by a dull story with the obvious theme of distinguishing one triplet from another. The illustrations are spare, but lively. From HORN BOOK 1991, (c) Copyright 2010. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
