Federico Fellini's widely acknowledged masterpiece about a befuddled filmmaker (Marcello Mastroianni) trying to decide on his next project may be just a bit overrated, but there is no question about the merits of this top-notch digitally restored presentation. The often dreamlike, chiaroscuro cinematography of the original film is stunningly rendered. Interviews, "making of" documentaries, audio essays, and other extras in this two-disc set make this essential. (c) Copyright 2010.
