PreS-Gr 2-Adventures of Zimmo is an exciting, fun-filled video series designed to introduce young children to various modes of transportation. Zimmo is a colorful alien from the planet Zorlon crafted very much in the style of Jim Henson's Muppet characters, with orange skin, green hair, big eyes, and two antennae poking out of his head. His mission in this episode is to help viewers discover facts about a variety of flying machines. Through the use of interesting and engaging photography and real-life interviews, Zimmo escorts viewers through historical facts on flying; on board flights in a small plane, hot air balloon, and the space shuttle; and even manages to include a few spelling games along the way. The Blue Angels make an appearance as beautifully choreographed footage of their amazing piloting skills is presented. The entire video is upbeat and fast paced, with the concept of teamwork emphasized as people such as those in charge of gassing and de-icing the planes, ticket takers, air traffic controllers, and others are given credit for their contributions to the successful flights of the flying machines.
