Most point out how Geisel revolutionized reading instruction and credit him with the invention of the "easy reader." Calling all Dr. Seuss fans--this one's for you. Fensch has collected 26 articles from the popular media and academic journals that elaborate on the who, what, and why of Seuss. For instance, there is one of the first major articles about Seuss, which appeared in a 1959 issue of Life magazine; a piece by children's literature expert Selma Lane that is the first example of Seuss lit crit; and several posthumous ponderings about the Seuss phenomenon.
