《书目》(Booklist)书评
Gr. 3-5. This attractive volume, written in a style that will appeal to browsers more than information seekers, discusses the tombs of early Americans, the people who were buried in them, and the archaeologists who discover and interpret them. The introductory information could have been better organized, but Bendick goes on to cover her topic geographically: the tombs of South America, Mesoamerica, and North America. Among the civilizations she looks at briefly are the Incas, the Mayas, the Aztecs, and the Anasazi. Illustrating the book is a combination of color photos and color pencil drawings executed in an appealing folk-art style. A glossary and a brief bibliography are appended. ~--Ilene Cooper
