摘要
摘要
Whether it's dealing with something as common as anger or something relatively new such as the Internet, these excellent books provide sensible advice to teens.
Young people, who are constantly struggling to develop their own image, are particularly in danger of developing an eating disorder. This book helps teens recognize the warning signs of eating disorders and tells them how to find help.

《学校图书馆杂志》(School Library Journal)书评
Gr 5-9-- Two attractive titles that give basic information on their respective topics. In Eating Disorders , the pressure to be thin is explored, along with how to keep the body and mind healthy. More detailed information is available in Elaine Landau's Why Are They Starving Themselves? (Messner, 1983). Your Legal Rights explains a young person's rights and the reasons for restrictions in the family, school, and community. Issues covered include freedom of expression, working, abuse, divorce, and abortion. Not much space is devoted to crimes committed by young people and the results, and none to legal matters related to driving. Protect Your Legal Rights (Messner, 1983) by Edward F. Dolan, Jr. and Up against the Law (Dutton, 1985) by Ross and Patricia Olney have more complete information on a wider variety of topics, but are written on a higher reading level. Both of these new titles are illustrated with full-color photographs of teenagers, making them of potential interest to reluctant readers. --Martha Gordon, South Salem Library, NY (c) Copyright 2010. 《书目》(Booklist)书评
Gr. 7-10. While its photographs are frequently out of focus, this addition to the Need to Know Library series aimed at reluctant readers is an informative, easy-to-read introduction that touches briefly but competently on some of the psychological, historical, and sociocultural aspects of anorexia and bulimia. Kubersky is candid without overexplaining and uses most of her personal profiles to good effect. Unlike Kolodny's text, reviewed above, this book is self-help only in the broadest sense--it contains a few paragraphs about good nutrition and a brief list of organizations that can provide more in-depth information. A glossary and a disappointing list of further readings are appended. ~--Stephanie Zvirin
