Ages 16-adult. Bundles of ancient holy parchment were first discovered in a cave near the Dead Sea in 1947. The continuing controversy over the meaning, origin, and rightful ownership of what are now known as the Dead Sea Scrolls is fascinatingly explored here. Numerous international biblical scholars, journalists, and museum officials add their insight to the scrolls' meaning (most of them duplicate the "Bible books as we know them" ) and origins. Shot on location in the Middle East with stunning reenactment footage as well as newsreel clips and vintage footage, this well-narrated video sheds light on the continuing mystery surrounding this noteworthy archaeological discovery.
