Critique de Choice
A theoretical reference to current three-dimensional computer graphics programming using Pascal. Although Watt uses the Pascal programming language as a practical way to apply much of the theory discussed, the clarity of his writing makes this book handy for the overall understanding of three-dimensional programming design that can be carried over to any programming language. Important topics covered, for example, include Bezier curves, fractal systems, and anti-aliasing techniques. The book is well organized by topic, allowing the reader to reference any chapter without relying on material built from other chapters. Sample programming problems for each chapter apply techniques covered. Useful appendixes help with basic material that is briefly mentioned but not thoroughly covered. Watt includes a very complete reference section with many recent and important papers. Color illustrations will help simulate effects produced by examples discussed. Recommended for upper-division undergraduate computer science students. -F. J. Smith, Southern Illinois University--Carbondale
