Kids can write before you know it. That's the message clearly sent here. Even preschoolers who aren't spelling or reading can create great stories with the right inspiration and encouragement. Little ones can dictate, scribble, then read aloud their "compositions," or illustrate them. Edwards and Maloy suggest creating a "Writing Box" filled with paper, pencils, markers, crayons, scissors, and other essentials. Then they elaborate numerous writing games, projects, and family activities. The emphasis is on fun in these at-home creative writing seminars, and older children as well as adults will benefit from these ideas. ~--Denise Perry Donavin
